My 2011 dually is not broken in yet but I average 11-12mpg pretty consistently pulling my Mobile Suites weighing about 17000 lbs.

I love my big butt truck..... it is my daily driver and helps me get exercise cause i park out in thd north 40 at Walmart now cause I don't like crowding folks in parking and I don't want them clipping my fenders. My 3/4 ton did a fine job but the dually is so much better.....

i went from a 3/4 ton Dodge gas to a 1 ton diesel dually and just love it. I get about 17-18 mpg down the highway and 14 in town so my dually is my daily driver. have not pulled much with it yet but what little I have it felt great!

I was amazed at how much more sable the dually is. I don't even know when I have cross winds until I stop and get out of the vehicle. I love the way it tows.

The cheapest Ecoboost I have seen has been $47k. With a few customer rebates I can get a diesel dually for that much. Our local dealer had a couple of new 3/4 ton Ram Diesels for $40k not long ago. Ford dealer didn't wanna deal then even after I showed him the ad.

EB XLT Super Cabs go for around 31k around here... Why do you need leather seats in a truck anyway...
The 5.0 XLT I'd like to have is going for 29k..
All too much money for me either way...
I think my Dad paid around 35k for his 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 dually back in 2005.. It's a Laramie too.. He has the leather seats..

When we bought our dually we weren't looking for one,our 87 f250 was starting to have problems, Dw's mission was to find a f250 or f350, 4x4, manual tranny, Ext cab 8ft bed, V10 or diesel. We had just sold a group of heifers and thats the amount we had to spend. She found this truck and we thought even tho it was a dually we would go look at it.It was more money then we had but we would look. It was at a dealer, it was 2 years old. The dealer dropped his price by almost 30%. which was how much cash we had and we had a new to us truck.
Pulling our 24ft gooseneck with a full load of hay we didn't notice much difference. Pulling the stock trailer with a load of cattle it was more stable, the cattle can really move you around. But what really sold us on duallys was when we got the camper and how well it carries it.
We are absolutly sold on duallys. The only thing we will do differently with our next truck is it will be a crew cab.

For getting at things in the box, your tool box, or working the hitch for your fifth wheel, the best I found were wheel to wheel nerf bars, with the dually kickout at the end.
Putco makes some that are stainless, link here.
I never owned the Putco brand, but I did have some by Waag on my 2003 Chevy dually, and they worked fine. However, on checking a few web sites, it seems the Waag bars are no longer available.
I suspect if one does a Google search on wheel to wheel dually kick out nerf bars, there will be other brands one can find.

Once I realized we weren't driving the TV enough to justify the added cost of a diesel, I traded our 99 F250 PSD CC LB for a 99 is K3500 7.4 CC LB dually and some cash. The power is the same, dropped a m in the mpg, but the darn thing tows so much better. I will go back to diesel in a few years when we retire, but it won't be another Ford, probably a Cummins. Duallys rock!
