We have always debated getting a RV cover for our fiver. We just store ours outside over the years. Seen too many get all torn up. We had heavy winds last week up north. There were 4 fifth wheels and a motorhome all with new covers this last fall.
All of them had tears or torn to shreads after the winds subsided. I just wonder what damage it did to the finish on the trailers.
I agree. Just today I drove out to where our 5er is stored just to check on it. It was very windy here today and I saw two other RV's with covers and they were whipping around quite a bit. I didn't look real close, but for the money I just think they are not worth it.
Now tire covers are a different story. I have them and recommend them for storage situations. The sun and weather can do a job on tires and valve stems.

I wasn't sure which way to go on this subject, so I called the gel-coat manufacturer and they said to cover it, then I called Cedar Creek and they said not to cover it! I took Cedar Creek's advice and don't use a cover.

The professional who washes and waxes my unit told me that he can see a big difference between his clients that cover and those that don't in favor of covering them. I'm thinking of a Calmark if I can figure out how to get the cover on the unit without killing myself.
I had a cover with my previous TT because it was part of the "deal". The wind wore the paint off the corner molding. I had it tight but there was still some movement. Did not get a cover with this 5er. As someone said, I'm a bit concerned about trying to get a bulky cover up on that roof.

I use a cover on our 96 Southwind, it helps protect it from the sun.
I've never had any damage from the cover rubbing the paint and we get a lot of winter wind in my area.
When this cover wears out I'll buy another one. It's not difficult to install/remove. I do it myself but it is easier with help.
