I need help! My 13 year old son wants to go trout fishing this summer. Can anyone tell me a campground in North Ga where you can trout fish but I also need it to have a swimming area for my daughter.

Call Malisa and Robt at Creekwood, They can advise you.

Fishing should be easy, swimming another thing.

Creekwood would be an excellent choice for fishing, but they don't have a swimming pool. Excellent cg though!

Unicoi SP also has a lake/beach. Fishing I'm not sure about... I'm sure there is something around the Helen area with fishing.

Moccasin Creek SP also offers lake & stream fishing... not sure about swimming. As I remember, it's about 45-60 minutes from Unicoi.

At Moccasin Creek, the state raises the trout next door. Children and seniors are allowed to fish at the release area. There is not a beach, but I believe you are allowed to go in off the docks. You are maybe 20-25 mins. from Unicoi.

Unicoi SP would the best place...there is a lake for fishing/swimmning, but you can also trout fish in the Chattahoochee as well as tube down it...

Here's a picture of our site at Unicoi SP...site was FHU...

Brevard NC is not that far from GA - Davidson River CG. The river has a swimming hole, and is stocked with trout several times a week.
