Quote: The fees are used solely for those “amenities” at the sites and to pay the staff that manages those amenities... That money has to come from somewhere. It might as well be those who actually USE the facilities.

Didn't Colorado's state park fees go up a couple of years ago too? Go to the TX state parks website. They are pleading for $$ to make up for lost revenue as well.

Most current fees date back to a time when the dollar was worth 2-3 times what it is today. The fees need to go up just to stay even with costs.

Yep, daily, annual and camping pass fees went up last year. And discounts for resident weekday camping were reduced. Also the lifetime resident pass doubled right after I bought mine But the parks don't get any state funds so I'm not complaining as I want the parks open as I enjoy them.

Texas suffered significant lost revenue due to last summer's heat wave. Hard to enjoy the experience when the daily highs range from 101 to 109 or more every day from late June to Sept! And that ain't dry heat.

Don't fix state fees with federal! REA is for all Federal properties including BLM, Forest Service and other federal lands.
I have not seen any changes in fees locally. Camping fees seem to be the same.
REA
Washington stae for example has a new fee $10 a day or $30 a year for use.
