Cant take it anymore. I want an electric jack for the front of my 2006 Keystone Sprinter 31BHSlide. Checking on the weight as we speak.

If you have one, please tell me the weight of your camper and what size jack, 3 or 4 thousand lbs and if works well or struggles.

My recommendation is to buy the unit that will lift the most weight as the price difference is minimal, We selected the Atwood 3500 for our trailer noted in our signature below.

I'd be interested too in getting one. Have my eye on one, 3,500 lb 12V DC A-Frame Trailer Jack for $250 cdn. Full 18 in. lift (12 in. power plus 6 in. manual drop leg extension). Will wait and see what other people think.

I have a 3,000 lb. DTH tongue jack. It works very well with my 1,200 lb. tongue weight trailer. YOu have to remember you're not only lifting the trailer but the rear of the tow vehicle to latch up spring bars. The DTH has been on my trailer for about 4 years now and has had VERY heavy use (traveling over15,000 miles per year. I've owned Ultra Fab, and Barker in the past and they worked well also. I've never owned a tongue jack that an any way "struggled" to do it's job. If you push the button and it lifts that's about all you can expect and any less would make them totally unacceptable. The ONLY problem I've had with any of them was with the Ultra FAb that had a fuse holder that was not water tight. I had to open it up and clean it frequently to keep it running. I replaced the fuse holder with one that WAS water tight and solved the problem for about $2.00

My advice would be to get the one that offers you the best bargain as there really is no propitiatory technology involved. All of mine have had lights for hitching up at night, that I never used as none of them provides any light where I might need it.

Good luck / Skip

Barker 3500. Works well for just about any trailer.

X2

Just bought a used Barker 3500VIP for my Passport238, weights 3700 dry weight, about 4700 loaded without water. Works like a champ and was easy to install. Took all of 10 mins to mount and about 15 min to route the wire and crimp on a connector and attach to the positive terminal mounting block.

Hope your travels are safe and the friendships made camping are lasting.

I have owned the Barker, Atwood and a Ultra Fab. The only one that I had problems with from day one was the Ultra Fab. I would highly recommend the 3500 Barker or Atwood

I have an Atwood, and would buy another. Compact and water proof. 3500 would be good for your TT.

Correct me if I am wrong but that would be your total weight of the trailer. Your tongue weight (at the hitch) would be alot less. I figure a 3500 should easily do the job.
