Skip....you may have a different setup. I never have to lift the TT and TV to attach my spring bars. Am I doing something wrong? Just asking.

I have one on my wish-list as well. I guess you have noticed that all most all of the posts here say to get the 3000-3500 size Electric Jack. Most of the trailer tongue weights are going to fall between 500lbs and 1500lbs I would imagine.
Most everyone I have talked to says installation is real simple as you leave the trailer tongue connected to the truck so you can do your remove and replace action real easy...
Most of these are probably direct connected to the battery terminal using one of those AUTO-RESET type circuit breakers for the 12VDC source power.
I always look at the guys coming into the camp grounds getting everything setup using one of these and just shake my head. "I gotta get one of these Electric Jacks" One of these days..
One of my working days co-worker got him a big motorhome and was a NASCAR fan. So he and his wife made their maiden voyage to the closest NASCAR Race. He says they pulled into their assigned spot and parked the Motorhome. Then hit the LEVELER button to level the trailer and it went up and down and wiggled alittle bit then the green light comes on. He then looks at his wife and says "Get me a Beer" haha... He never left the comforts of his captain's chair...

3502 UltraFab been going strong for 4 years and still lifting. Tt in the sig is not light. Great service and only $89 on Ebay.

I have a 3000 lb Ultrafab and it works fine. I do though agree with get the biggest you can for the price as you can move it to your next trailer.
Go take a look at your manual jack, I'll bet it's only rated at 2,000 lbs so anything higher than that is really just icing on the cake.

3500 barker for me too, on 2 different trailers, and when I sell this one, it'll come with me. Works great, simple, and makes it way easier (especially if you're doing it much.)

We installed the Barker 3500 last year... I'm a fan.
Note the shaft size for the different units and the diameter of the hole in your tongue... I think the shaft diameters are different for the different weight ratings.
Our hole fit the jack... but very tightly. I had to use a rasp to remove the paint (and a little metal) to get mine installed. Not a major problem, but it would not fit otherwise.

Thats where i was also confused.
My tongue weight is 900 lbs, the jack has to lift that and the trailer....oooohhhhhh I get it now, the weight of the trailer at the tongue is 900 lbs.

Like Skip, I have to lift the back of the TV to put on my bars or remove them. Can't imagine the hitch doing much good if there isn't that much tension.
I have a Bulldog 4000lb. with a 5 year warranty. Always hear good things about Barker and Ultra Fab has a reputation for great customer service.
