On my Galaxy Nexus it's just called "Maps".
On any Android / smart phone (if Google Maps is installed) it has this icon and directly below the icon the text "Maps"

When I open "Maps" I can find no menu and settings does not contain Labs.
Does the app icon for Google Maps say only Maps? Maybe I don't have Google Maps.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
It does say, simply, "Maps".
After you get "Maps" look under the other tools icon. The symbol varies. On the Nexus it's three vertical dots in the bottom right corner. On the Droid X it's four squares in the bottom left corner.

AWESOME tip, thanks for sharing! I never would have played with that. The Droid forums all have tips from younger people with good eyes....that never would have come up.
