rvrepiarnut,

Thank you for the suggestion. Our first coach was a Damon (Thor) and it was a great intro to RVing as I learned that almost anything can and will break at the worst possible time. I am not likely to go there again. This is NOT to slam Thor, just my own personal experience. We were towed twice due to the way the body and chassis (P30) were mated.

To others re:Foretravel. I really think they may the best constructed RVs around, but the floor plans we have seen are not to our needs. Tthe interior glitz (mirrored ceilings etc) are overboard and for the money for used I think I can do well with Tiffin, Winnebago, Discovery new for our next 100,000 miles and 7-10 years.

check out a Country Coach. we have a 33' one with 2 slides and it's plenty of room for full timing. Quality built.

Mine's a 36 footer with 1 slide....Wife and I dont need any more coach for any reason

O.P. Look hard at used CC's. MANY and I mean MANY have very low miles.
My own is a 2000 model and I have less than 55K miles on mine...and if you look at NADA for costs on 2003-2005 models you'll find your WAAAYYYY below any $200,000 number

OP checking back in:

Just bought Tiffin Phaeton 36QSH. It is a loaded coach from dealer inventory. DW agreed to several compromises like including the W/D

Norcold 4 door refrigerator, W/D, Nav, tankless water heater, Sat dish, Sat Radio, Computer Workstation, luxury air mattress and sofa. No oven, Slide tray in storage, central vac. There may be more, but that is the largest part of it. We will take delivery in 10 days after a major family get together and time to get the funds in place.

Thank you all for ideas and suggestions.

We are looking at everything so far. DW has last word on floor plan and interior storage. I have last word on getting diesel v gas and operational stuff, like layout of the fw and sewer compartments

LOL, I suspect dedicated RVing wives are very similar in their requirements and I wonder why mfg don't employ them in the design studio.

In answer to the question the Winnebago Journey and Itasca Meridian are essentially 'twins'. The front and rear caps may be different, as well as the color schemes, but they are essentially the same coach.

Thanks for the update. Check back in after you've had the coach for a few months and let us know how it is working out for you.

I am sure I will be posting with questions about diesel operations and air brake usage. Funny, after 12 years of RVing I will be a newby again using certain aspects of my new coach.

Can't wait. May 9 is the scheduled closing date.
