We have been living in our coach 4 to 6 months at a time (9 months last year) and have put 97k miles on it the 8 years we have owned it from new. DW says 36 is big enough, she will let me sneak up to 37 but that is it. This limit is real as we need to be able to fit into our son's yard and it takes a 6 point K turn to get our current coach situated there. The parking slot behind our townhouse just holds the current coach.

We are boondockers so led lighting and solar as well as a reasonable battery pack are necessary. We are travelers, on the move more often than not, a week in one place is long, a month unheard of. We both drive and we share most chores except those that only I can do with my greater strength and reach.

The budget is in the $250,000 range. We are considering used as well as new. We are shopping PPL in New Braunfels tomorrow and will look at Camping World and and a Winnebago Dealer in Buda as well. We also plan a stop in Red Bay to consider Tiffin.

I am open to suggestion of specific models, manufacturers, specific units that are for sale on the used market. For now I am tire kicking. I expect to pull the trigger in May or June.

If I have left anything out that would help let me know.

A late model Foretravel would be at the head of that budget's list.

Be sure to check out the Tiffin Allegro RED and Phaeton 36 ft coaches.
They both have 4 slide out for lots of space. 55 degree wheel cut for your parking requirements. Lots of coach for the $.

I love my new 2012 Journey 36M we too spend about 6 months a year in the MH

I have driven it a little over 2K miles since we left home in early Jan.

The 26 ft slide on the passenger side is great, we love the counter space with slide out drawers , stacked washer and dryer, bigger bathroom with extra sink in bedroom and best of all our huge electric refrigerator with ice and water on the door.

6 coach batteries and a 2000 watt inverter

Only minor issues with the new coach, we are getting between 9-10 MPG

The 36M was reviewed in the Feb motorhome magazine

http://www.motorhomemagazine.com/top-stories/2012-winnebago-journey-36m-road-test/

Best of all the MSRP was about 260K and purchased for 22% off that.

As usual this board is fantastic. Brett, I will certainly keep my eyes open for a Foretravel, may even go up to Nagadoches in a day or two as we are not far away. Stopping at PPL New Braunfels, Camping World and then Crestview RV in Buda in the next couple of days.

rr2254545: we are very interested in the 36 Winnie/Itasca Journey/Meridian as they come close to what we want. Will get ours with propane/electric reefer as we boondock a lot. Good info on the discount you got - very helpful.

okgc: Will do, planning a stop there in a week or so for factory tour.

Your budget would probably get you into a 2012 Alegro Bus 36' four slide with a 425 Cummins. Nice coach.
