We are scheduled to do a 2 wk. Samaritan's Purse rebuild in Tuscaloosa at the end of the month. I didn't realize that it would be so difficult to find an rv park there. Does anyone know of any RV parks that would be located within easy driving distance to downtown Tuscaloosa? DH and sons need to be at the church at 6:30 each morning, so I would prefer something closer than the Deerlick COE. RVparkreviews didn't have much... we don't necessarily need hookups, tho it would be nice... (and cheap would be good! LOL! - don't want much do I??? )
Would love some advice if you are familiar with the area (we have never been there).
Also, while I'm asking - what's in the area for the rest of us to do (little kiddos). We will have 2 weeks to fill as the others are too young to be on the job site...
Just look in your campground guide or RV Park Reviews for Cottondale, Al. There's a couple of parks sort of side by side just off of I-59. Nothing fancy but full hookups.

I'll second Tannehill State Park. I like to camp under the trees.
It's close enough that on ballgame weekends it's always full of campers going to watch the TIDE... RTR.
If you get a chance when you are staying in Tuscaloosa be sure to visit the INDIAN MOUND AND MUSEUM at MOUNDVILLE ( Tuscaloosa). Moundville Archaeological Park. Be prepared to spend some time there. Take your Camera... They had a couple of rooms decked out with life size wax Indian figures showing how things looked in that time frame. Great place to visit.
