Does anyone put something between the top of the slide out and the topper to keep them from sagging. We had toppers on our motorhome and they lasted for six years before I had to replace them, they did sag some but no problems. We just purchased a new fifth wheel and was just curious if you put something between the slide out and the topper to keep the rain from building up on them. Thanks in advance for any advise.

We don't but probably should. But it's too much trouble to carry something around to prevent the sag which goes away when the slide is brought in anyway. In heavy rain/wind I throw a rope over the cover and tie it down at both ends to make a trough to let the rain drain and/or keep it from flapping. This can be done from the ground.

Probably not necessary as long as the topper has some elevation to it. If it is relatively flat (parallel to the slide room roof) then it might help some).

A small beach ball or a gallon milk jug slid under the topper works pretty well.
We're in Arizona

Thanks for the responses, I had thought about a small blow up ball like a beach ball but I had not thought of a rope around the topper. It has some elevation but not much, I just did know if it would stretch too much. Thanks again!

I put nothing underneath and mine don't sag. I installed them myself and gave a little more than of a pitch on them.

After reading this thread I don't think I want slide toppers-seems like too much of a problem.

I just close the slide after a heavy rain and the water drains off then reopen. I would not be without slide toppers.
