Woodburner what year is your allegro??? Has anyone tried to make things right for you?? Including Bob Tiffin himself?? My dealer keeps telling me how he wants to make everyone with a Tiffin happy because it has his name on it.I looked at the Newmar and the Winniebago and I think they look plain. The newmar was beautiful inside but is a little pricey and I didn't like the exterior paint. I like the exterior paint on the tiffin and the Georgetown it makes the coach pop and look like a DP. I also like on the Tiffin you can seat 3 people on the couch and have them seatbelted. I have 3 kids and they always fight over where they sit. I currently have a class C so I think either one would be an upgrade. Just to really tease myself I test drove a Forest River Berkshire 390BH. It drove like a dream and totaly different then a class A. My wife said it felt like she was riding in a boat the way it floated down the street. If I had an extra $45,000 sitting around I would go that way but I don't so a class A gasser is what I am left with. I hope to finaly make a desision within the next 2 weeks and living with it for at least the next 8-10 years. I hope I make the right desision.

I've got the Berkshire and we traded an Itasca 35j gasser bunk model for the Berkshire. You are correct that it is a night and day type of a transition. Yes, the Berk is more money, but for us it is money well spent for the added safety and convenience. The added fuel economy is another feature that made us glad we made the move. We were getting just over 6 mpg on the gasser and just under 10 with the diesel. More money at the pump but unless diesel hits half again more than gas we're moeny ahead.

Before I bought my Georgetown 378TS I looked at the Allegro, the Winnebago Adventurer and the Georgetown. Our first priority was the floorplan. We didn't want the main TV to be in the overhead above the driver. They all had floorplans that would accomadate us. The second was quality of the build. We found the quality in the Georgetown to be equal to or better than the other two. They all use the same components from the same companies and the warranties come from those companies. The third prority was price. The MSRP on our Georgetown was right at $130,000 while the Winnebago was $167,000 and the Allegro was $163,000. Now the other two did have some things that our Georgetown didn't like the Winnebago had the basement A/C and a sophisticated electrical system that would adjust to the load you had in the motorhome. The Allegro had tile floors, which I really didn't want, but, the standard driver and passenger seat were cloth and neither were powered. Ultraleather and power seats were options. Also our Georgetown didn't have a transfer switch for the generator, but I added that myself for $250. Allegro had no floor plan with a 4 door refrigerator, either. They all had the Ford V10 Chassis. So for us it came down to price. Unless they stuffed dollor bills someplace in the Winnebago and Allegro I just couldn't see the price difference. We purchased our Georgetown for $95000 outright, no trade. We have never been sorry with our choice. We have fulltimed in our Georgetown for over a year and a half now and have had just two minor problems which were promptly taken care of by our dealer. The overhead A/C vents would not stay open, they were all replaced and we had some delamination on the outside floor of the two big slides which was fixed and the cause was taken care of also. We think for the money Georgetown is pretty hard to beat.

Our Allegro is a 2012; just picked it up Feb. 17 and am still compiling a list of warranty issues to be addressed.
Now don't get me wrong; I still like this thing a lot! It has a beautiful paint scheme and floorplan and all the things that need to work ,WORK.
It's just that it has so darned many crummy things with the finish on the cabinetry and a number of things with the paint (all of which are easily fixable in the right hands) That I bothered to post of the issues.
Heck; it looks like a 1st year apprentice painter finished the cabinetry....maybe even worse.
I just feel NOBODY should have to go back to the factory to have issues handled...but they do in droves....I haven't drank that koolaid yet, and do not intend to.
I'll give Tiffin the option of letting me get this stuff addressed locally and go from there if they nix it.
The dealer I purchased from sure doesn't have the ability to right the wrongs, not many would. Wood finishing is a specialty not many rv techs will be experienced in.Here's some pics to give you a view of it but don't emphasize the issues needing to be addressed.

Nemo45: where in the world did you find an Allegro priced at $163,000?
They sure don't list at that price with all the options.
I was under $130000 with all the options including a 7k genny and heatpump etc...

I'm pretty sure that was a doctored MSRP that the dealer generated himself. One of the reasons I wouldn't deal with him. That and the fact that the Allegro didn't have a 37 ft. motorhome like the Georgetown does. The longest was 35'10" and that was a bunkhouse which we didn't want. We did find a dealer that had a 34TGA(a floorplan we liked) and he showed me the MSRP right from the factory, it was $129,640. But, it didn't have a free standing dinette table and we didn't like the entry door right behind the passenger seat. But, in every respect we felt the Georgetown was equal to or better than the Allegro. That and the fact the only floorplan we liked was a full 3 ft. shorter than the Georgetown.

Test drove another 2012 Tiffin 35QBA today and really went through it with a fine tooth comb and for the most part was really happy with it. I thought in some places they used way too much spray foam insulation but I liked see all the undercoating underneith the coach. I brought my wife with me to get her opinion on it and she went through everything inside while I crawled underneith and in the compartments and said overall she liked it a lot even more then the Georgetown which is the one I really liked. I must say though I do like the wood and the floor better in the Tiffin. The dealer seemed very nice and knowledgeable of the product. They also had a big service bay for service and are only a little over an hour from my house which is a big plus. Things are looking better and better for the Tiffin. 6 Months ago I wouldn't even look at a Tiffin and now I am consitering buying one.

IMHO a good dealer is a make or break thing for a new purchase. Not this doesnt' have to be the servicing dealer. I bought mine out of city but another dealer who didn't sell Class A (just C's adn rented the A's) did all my Winnebago work. Not that there was a lot to do, but it all went very smoothly. Now having said that the selling dealer is a great pre delivery and PDI had 0 issues outstanding. So I was clean when I left

I think I would find myself a real nice used DP and still have enough left over for a few years of fuel.
