We're trading in our Durango for a new TV. We added a brake controller to it last summer to tow our pop-up. The new TV has a built-in brake controller.

Is there any value in removing the old one and selling it?

I don't think it's anything special.

We too had a brake controller - a Prodigy - and traded our pickup in on a new one that had it built in. Since we left the fifth wheel rails in the bed, air bags, and trailer towing wiring, we left the brake controller. DH said it wasn't worth the time to try and sell it outright.

The dealer won't give you anything extra for leaving it in the rig, take it out and sell it or give it to some one that needs one.

When we traded in our Sierra we had a Tekonsha P3 in it. The dealer told me that they pull them and if no one in the shop wants it they throw them in the garbage. He told me to pull it if I wanted as they weren't giving me anything for it. I did and sold it cheap to a friend.

Remove it and keep in boneyard.

Never know when it comes in handy again.

I'm looking at the same thing. I have a F350 on order. Frankly I doubt I'd get much for it so I'm debating whether to leave it with the truck or my TT which we will be trading in soon.

We are just starting out and could use a controller.

When I upgraded to the Prodigy I kept my first controller. It wasn't long before our Son got into the toyhauler life. It works fine for him as a free controller. Take it with you. It's not worth much and will make some first timer happy.. IMO...
