It's legal in my state. I've never done it, but have see others do exactly what you posted. If they arrived via the trailer and decided to leave via the trailer it couldn't have been that bad.

Besides being uncomfortable and a bumpy ride, I don't see any serious danger.

The chances of having a wreck are pretty slight but if someone hit the TT or you got in a wreck those people would be toast. A TT will go to pieces in an accident. Also it would be pretty easy for someone to be walking around while being towed and fall. It's not like a train where you can grab a poll. Overall I'm not staying up at night because there are people riding in TTs while being towed...there are more things to worry but still in this case I think to approach the person in a friendly helpful manner just to let them know what be a good idea. I would not call the cops over it though.

Well I can see after reading 4 pages I'm in the minority here.

Why is it your problem, not being rude, but really why would such a thing be a large enough issue to start a thread, YOUR personal responsibility is ziltch in this.
I too, having been a first responder since 1996 have seen some things that suck.....

I see people eating HORRIBLE food everyday and there are no laws for for people to run around and slap those double cheese burgers out of hands of those eating them, to "SAVE THEM".

I swear I'm not trying to be an A$$ to you, the OP, but the level of outrage can be applied to many situations that cause much greater harm each year, too MANY more peeps than the few that get aced riding in the back of a TT, TC, motorhome or just little topper on a pick'M up truck.

Is it UNSAFE, YES.

How many things on a weekly basis does one see that can be deemed UNSAFE?

as per the FDA...Adverse Event Reporting System for prescription drugs...."deaths" totaling 452,780 and "serious outcomes" equaling 2,816,297 occurred during the eleven years from 2000 to 2010.

In reality prescription drugs are far worse than many things "we the people" want protection from in the form of more laws and enforcement there of.

Most people don't have the guts to speak up or go out of their way to help people. They see people like that 80 something year old Vet that recently got car jacked and beaten...laying in the street and they just ignore it and keep walking...it's not their business after all. I think there is a common sense line between being nosy and being helpful. Granted...this one here is harder...I don't think being aggressive and telling someone that they are soooo wrong or whatever is a good approach...nor is calling the cops as by the time they found them they would be gone. It's best to just be friendly and offer some education just so they know.

If you think the people know better and are doing it anyway then I would leave the alone...but if I didnt think they knew then they might actually be glad I told them.

I, for one, am totally fed up with the "do-gooders" in Society, and their incessant preaching about the evils of this, that, and the other thing. The quest for "safety" has become totally obnoxious! (the quest for a germ-free world is even worse!)
Therefore, I agree with the above rant!
If I want to eat a Twinkie or a HoHO, I will do so, and it is none of anybody else's business!
The same goes for riding in a trailer, using a seat belt, wearing a helmet, or any of the other things that have been deemed by somebody as "necessary for safety".
If what others do has no direct effect on your or yours, leave them alone!
Don't even bring insurance into the discussion, that WILL result in another rant!

Great post Mower.
If you keep making posts like that I'm going to have to move to Billings and be your neighbor.
Or we can both more to NH and be in the land of "live free or die."

To you regulators:
Have a nice day and remember, I've got my eye on you. If I catch you eating cheese or drinking whole mike you're toast. I will tell the appropriate authorities because remember: Heart disease is the #1 killer in the US and you are killing yourself and that will leave your kids orphans!

"If what others do has no direct effect on your or yours, leave them alone!"

Great philosophy. There is no way anyone should ever watch out for his fellow man!! Kind of brings to mind the video of that two year old kid laying in the middle of the road in China. Oh well, not my problem. JMHO
