walk around a new cg. you are staying and write down the best sites for a future stay?

I have my little cg notebook. If we love the cg we always take that long long relaxing walk and find all the site numbers we love and jot them down.
I wonder how many of you do that also?

We used to but now the time between stays at the same campground makes it not practical.

Yes I have written down few favorite campsites, just can't recall where that book is now.
I like to find a place that has sunlight around noon in the area where my satellite dish will end up, so that it will have a clear view of the sky around to pick up signals. Others want complete shade, or a great view. It all depends on what you want in your stay at the campground.

Never have and mostly never will. See no reason to have a listing of sites. If it's a must site then everyone else who stays at that camp grounds will want that site also. Most places we stay are usually pick what ever site you want that's open.

We do it all the time; sometimes not a specific site but an area of the campground.

We do that every time we visit a new campground. We use an alphabetical filing system. Over the last 8 years we've compiled a lot of notes.
Usually, we circle spots or make our notes on the map of the campground they hand out and then we file the map. Makes for a really good resource when you want to go back a couple years later.

I do it in the COE campgrounds and take a picture of the campsite. That way I can go to reserve.gov and see the sites that are open and look at my picts to see what they look like.
