I think the price is quite a bit too high. I don't think the low NADA is all that reliable (around $9000) but I do know that they are very hard to sell without a slide (e.g. for 98, first year with the slide on NADA, diff between no slide and 1 slide is $12k). I think no more than $15-20k is fair.
FWIW, I would also not buy a mh with no slides no matter what the cost (even though I'm in the market for an older mh, I'd have a hard time buying one with just 1 slide).
I would just emphasize to get at least one slide. If it doesn't seem important to you at this time, just consider yourself selling it in the future. The buyers will really penalize you. If you really have to have this unit check NADA by all means. Count on keeping it for a long time, otherwise it is not a good deal at all.
If you do state parks and federal campgrounds you will appreciate the no slideouts idea. The Cummins 5.9 coupled with the Allison 6 speed is a excellent combination for good fuel mileage. But get the Cummins Killer Dowel Pin issue checked out right away if you get it. The kit and fix in quite inexpensive, but if ignored, it can ruin you fun real fast.
Thanks for all the great responses and suggestions. I lurk around and gather information here all the time, first time I thought I needed to post, and it has been well worth it.

Don't know where you can get tires for 2500!! Negotiate all you can. Prices are low everywhere you look for used MH's.
Got a long deal on Michelins through a program on Wanderlodge Owners Group, paid 2500 for 6 11R 24.5s mounted and balanced tax in, actually it was a little less than that.

Oh....and you guys that have to have slides, what am I missing? Water leaks, drafts, weight, complexity that breaks down and causes stress, loss of structural integrity? Hmm,,,,yeah...then the notion of a Fleetwood anything makes me want to pull my hair out. Been there. I know of a really nice Foretravel on RVonline for 25k, that would be my choice.
Our Discovery has what I call a 'super' slide. Full size couch and table/booth slide out. No issues at all with ours. Works perfectly. The slide also helps get rid of that feeling of a 'tube'.
I wish we had 4 slides..we are full time and the more the better IMO.

Mike, the only thing you are missing is lots of SPACE. I would say 95% of the people have no issues with their slides. Slides have been out for 20+ yrs and will continue to be a 'must have'. As in most forums, you will only hear people complaining about something, not so much praising. Nature of the beast.
Stay snug.

Sorry I started a debate over slides, or no slides. I know everyone has an opinion on every subject it seems, and rightly so. I was looking for information and recommendations, and for the most part I have received that.Thank you for everyones time on this matter. No confusion intended, I guess thats why I don't ever post. I think I'll just continue to listen quietly from shadows.
