Thx!! We are looking at the Raptor 4014 Velocity. I am also gonna need to upgrade my 5th wheel hitch. I currently have a 16K Reese, what is the easiest what to upgrade to an 18K? Can I just get an 18K Reese top portion and will it mount onto my existing bed rails?

Probably should call Reece to find out. I started out with an 18K hitch. I did need to buy new rails for under the bed mount when I purchased a new truck. Another question, can your truck pull that heavy of a unit. I had an 09 CCLB chevy diesel dually and it just wasn't enough truck. Purchased an 11Chevy with the heavier frame, engine, trans, etc and there is no comparison between the new trucks and the older ones.

Thx. I hear ya about the new trucks being bigger badder and better. My ol 1 ton 7.3 is gonna have to handle it until I can muster up a new truck purchase. It is in the plan, I just can't pull it off right now. I have air bags, upgraded tranny and brakes and some power adders. The majority of my pulls are fairly flat and relatively short.

Sounds like you have a plan. Last time we were really loaded we were at 27000lbs. We had our SxS atv, full water, camping gear for a month, extra 100 gallons of fuel and water along with generators in the truck. Our friends has a 40' gulfstream and they weighed in at 28000lbs. We're not as heavy when we don't carry all the water.

Welcome to the Toy Haulers forum. Sorry to hear about the MPV Vortex, MPV isn't very much liked around here it seems (I know I don't give them move love). You'll find the Raptor claims to be the most popular Toy Hauler, and on some level it probably is. Plenty of owners on this forum with them, and for the most part you'll find it to be a good product, just like any there can be the Friday units that Gilligan assembled, but if you have a good dealer you should be taken care of.
Do check on the hitch, my gut says you can't just upgrade the head, but the whole thing but hard to say for usre.

I don't have our contract with me (we're out of town) but I think I gave arouond $73000 for our 2011 4014. We also have the Velocity model with every option possible I think. Just don't sign on the dotted line until everything is fixed. We signed first, then took 2 months to get repaired. Keystone was responsive, the dealer not so much.

I have an a 2007 3612DS. Ordered in in Sept 2006 and besides a few minor issues has been great (the gauge for the black holding tank goes whacky, but they all seem too). Quality and fit and finish is excellent, I have the gel coat sides and its still nice and shiny. Great dealer support, great manufacturer support (I added a second bedroom window in the overhead slide and actually talked to a Keystone rep, but that was 5 1/2 years ago). Went to the RV show recently and am a bit disappointed in how the toy haulers are turning out...too many gimmicks and gadgets in my opinion. The 1/2 bath is good, 16" wheels...but other things...like side decks and power awnings and doors..cmon, really? Again, just my .02.

I had a Reese 16K and upgraded to a Reese 22K and it fits right into the existing rails.
