I had my truck weighed at the local dump.
they weigh you going in and out.Things where not that busy so I asked the lady what my empty weight was.It was within 60 to 70 lbs of the sticker on the door.
In my case 7200 gvw-1480 carrying capacity=5720.Its actual wt.with me and the ussual junk behind the seat 5800 lbs.

Same here. In fact at our dump, the scale has a display visible to the driver so I didn't even have to ask.
That's what I do, and it's free. We also have a display right at the end of the scale, no buttons to press . Very convenient, and 5 minutes from my house, on the way to the freeway. I weight my truck & trailer probably every second time we go camping, LOL. The guys at the dump always ask questions, etc. They have four scales, two in each direction, never have been too busy. If people were ever waiting in line I wouldn't do it, but that has never happened so far.

around here, you can pull into a closed highway weigh station. they keep the scales on all the time, it's free, no rush, and you can easily weight each axle seperatly as you pull forward.
Just have to look up a little to see the scale readout, no button 10' off the ground!!
Might check and see if your state keeps scales on when closed.
