Hope your plumbing is better than this guys.
Good luck

That guy is smart. See that sheet metal in front of the intake horn ? Its holding up a secondary fuel filter !

You are right about the pipe fittings in the upper radiator hose loop though.

On second thought, I bet that Me2 poured a couple 20 oz bottled drinking water in his fuel tank just for kicks.

I bet their is a huge conspiracy with 6.4 Ford owners, they pour random bottled waters in their tank.

Now that my fuel system is shot, I should see how much water I need to add to the tank before the WIF light comes on. It might be interesting to know.

Are there any other tests that someone with an iron in this (Ford) fire might need me to conduct before I pull the engine ? Being that I am pulling it, I might be able to pull apart the HPFP and injectors and see firsthand what exactly has happened.

Caveat: any and all of this would occur in my (very rare) spare time.

IF you wanted to donate, there could be a qualifed testing lab that could diagnose the cause.

I cannot help with any suggestions.

My 6.4 engine is kind of presold to a local guy. I'll discuss the situation with him and post back. As long as I get the parts back in core condition, I'm probably game to do whatever helps the Ford owner community.

Truthfully, I only found out about this a couple hours ago and I'm in total shock. My head is spinning.

How difficult is the task to swap DPF equipped engines (6.4 for the 6.7)? I didn't research it much, but when I owned my '08 6.4 I looked into a swap and didn't find anyone that had done that it on a +'08 Ford.

Not pointing finger at you.

I am not sure you can answer the questions I have.

I need the previous owner / operator.

Right now, I smell biodiesel or contaminated fuel, no proof, of course, only a hunch.

How do you smell anything? You read a topic on an RV forum Sherlock, nothing more.

I can well imagine you are still trying to process what you have learned...

I've decided, after a long history (mostly very good luck), with Ford trucks...I'm not going to "Spin the Wheel of Fortune" and buy any more Diesels from Ford. Cripes, two of them are supposedly problem prone 2003 and 2004 6.0 PSD's...no issues at all yet...knock on wood!

I'm done with it as of now! Officially!

I swear...

I hasten to add..I'm NOT a Ford hater yet...and I empthasize YET!

Ford 6.7 or Cummins 6.7 ?

The Cummins 6.7 seems pretty straightforward, transmission aside.

I'll tell you in a month or so.

"I am the second owner and I have no service records."

But I bet Ford does for every time the truck was at a dealer, customer pay, warranty work, service, etc.
