In order to have an awning style screen room you pretty much need an awning installed. Keep in mind that awnings are generally not designed to withstand strong winds so if you live (camp) in an area that has sudden occuring strong winds (30 MPH and up) it's kind of a PITA to have to remove a screen room to raise the awning. Sometimes it's just as good an option to use a gazebo or stand alone screen room in place of an awning attached one. Your trailer so do what works best for you.

You can buy an independent, portable, gazeebo/canopy from Wally World or other big box stores for around a hundred bucks and get a screen that fits and goes around it for just a little more. Totally independent of your trailer and can be used for lots of things will camping and at home. No holes are drilled in your trailer. Two people can totally assemble or take down and store in its case in about 10 minutes.

I had one for my popup camper. It was needed because the small size of the popup. However, it took longer to setup the screen room then the rest of the popup. It's was also very difficult to pack the screen room up. Most campgrounds don't have a clean dry spot on the ground where you can fold such a large item. It also greatly limited camp site setup options, because you always had to enter the screen room from the one door. And the worst was always zipping and unzipping the door. If you don't unzip it all the way before you enter, expect your hair to get cought in the zipper.... ouch!
Even before I sold the popup we knew we would never purchase a screen room again.

Also had awning/screen-room/add-a-room on our pop-up. Somewhat difficult to set up....BUT, this thing saved several vacations when we had constant rain or out of control mosquitoes. At the time we had small children. Having the additional space to play and spend time was a lifesaver. Just ordered Vacation'r room to add to our new TT.

I would consider using a screen room with four caveats:
1: If my RV had two doors, so I wouldn't have to zip/unzip every time I went in and out. Plus, dealing with tracked in soil isn't fun either.
2: I was using it for a long term engagement, say the RV was parked at a renaissance faire for a quarter of the year. The setup process is tedious, and unless I was doing it to keep it operable for a relatively long time, I'd not want to spend the time in using it.
3: I was able to securely stake it down. Luckily this year at my usual camping spot, the winds were not as bad as they were last year, but it doesn't take much to rip an awning off a rig.
4: I could put down some type of floor, to help keep sand out.

what i did and set it up myself. make sure you get one of the e-z up style. what's nice, if the wind picks up, i have just dropped it down on the legs and it has weathered several stormes that way. keep it in the pickup and have used on numerious day trips too.
