I have the Sling Box adapter to my Dish. Lets me watch any live TV program or anything from my DVR on my phone or laptop.

I've used a Slingbox Solo, then moved to a Vulkano with good results. The Vulkano seems to run even better on my Razr with a 3G connection here. I tested it in the car and there were only a couple of pauses in about 20 minutes. On a 4G connection, it would have been even better.

For me Slingbox is iffy because of my home DSL connection. It is 6mbs down but only 640kbs up. Without a good upload speed, quality on the receiving end will suffer no matter how it gets there.

If you are paying for your internet access.. Go ahead, do be aware of the bandwidth eaten by those suckers. I have heard a few stories of "SURPRISE" come bill time.

If you are using park wi-fi. Please do not.. We who depend on it for TEXT will not be happy.

Be aware that more and more campgrounds (and libraries and coffee shops and motels and other locations) are installing bandwidth limiters, and precisely because of the proliferation of high-bandwidth Internet devices.

Slingbox won't work if you have a Verizon 4g connection as your home network connection to the net.

Unless you want to fork over $500 for a dedicated private IP address

Are you sure? As far as I know, Slingbox and Vulkano do not require a static IP. In fact, my home cable connection is not a static IP and my Vulkano works just fine.
