Ca.Smog laws for Diesels= left wing EPA joke!!!!

To the OP, I did just what you have done. I sold my newer Dodge Cummins and bought a 97 Dodge 3500 dually cummins 4X4. Bigger injectors with some other tweaks, installed a PacBrake exhaust brake, ripped the stock exhaust out and replaced it with a full mandrel bend 4" all the way out the back. I have 4:10 gears so I installed a Gear Vendor overdrive. Plenty of power to haul my Everest triple slide around, excellent braking with the PacBrake. Our 2400 mile trip from NorCal to Montana last summer got as high as 18mpg to 14mpg never passing 1200F egts. The auto trans was also beefed up. It's not as nice as my new rig, but it's paid for, it has incredible power with decent MPG and I don't have Lib Calif nannying me. By the way, unless I punch it heavy, it's difficult to get black smoke from the tail pipe. Good choice and good luck.

Yes the springs come with the kit. With the auto trans, the down hill breaking(w/heavy camper) was spooky. The exhaust brake made an INCREDIBLE difference.

Thanks & I like your taste in trucks.

Just swapped from a 66mm Inducer & 80mm exh ( 60/80/14 ) to a 35/40 hybrid.
Figuring it should spool faster.
nstate, did you have to change valve springs with the pacbrake?
