Booking a trip to Disney the first week of October. Does anyone know what time they let you check in to your campsite? Can't find it on their website. I sent a email several days ago, but haven't heard back. I'm hoping it's in the morning so I want lose a day setting up. Anyone been lately that might know?
Here is the link to All Ears info on the campground. http://allears.net/acc/faq_fw.htmClicky here
It states the check in is 1pm. But if I remember correctly, there was a lot that you could park in so you can still enjoy the day at the park prior to check in. Have a magical trip!
If your site is not ready when you arrive, they have an overflow parking lot right next to the registration building that you can leave your trailer. They will give you are number to call to check on the status. You can finish your other check in items at that time, getting tickets and arranging charging to room card privileges. Yes, you get a room card just like a resort. You use this to show at the gate of the parks when using the extra magic hours.
If you would like more information about the Fort, please come on over to [url]fortfiends.net]/url] There is lots of helpful information all in one place, just alike allears, but you will also find first hand information from people who are currently there or just left.
Even if your site is not ready go ahead and check in and get your passes. Park in the overflow and catch a bus to a park of your choice. When you check in give them your cell phone number and they will text message you when your room/site is ready. Return form the park, grab your camper, go to your site.

Here is the above link to Fort Wilderness. You can book most of it online. expect about a 20 minute wait at the check in station.
Here is our take on checking in. Been doing it since early 1980's.
We arrive between 7:00-7:30AM most of the time, 6 to 8 times a year. The drive through check-in plaza is not open yet so wife goes into the Outpost and checks-in, completes the paperwork. If our site is ready, meaning available, they give us our site number, we drive to it and set up. If the site is not available, usually somebody is still camping at it, we get the business card with the phone number to call and they have our cell phone number to text us. We drive to the overflow lot, park and begin our WDW vacation.
As mentioned, when you check-in you can get all tickets at that time.
The Official Check-In time is 1:00PM because that is when all sites are supposed to be ready for occupancy, not always the case.
Special note....We had reservations a few years ago that coincided with a hurricane approaching where we live. We were told that we would have to evacuate in the AM so I called FW and told them of our situation. I asked if we could arrive at FW around 4:00AM, check-in and stay in the overflow lot until later that morning. They said to come up. We arrived at 4:00AM, they gave us our site, I drove to it, QUIETLY backed in, hooked up the electric and we went to sleep.
