What about Florida? It's closer and the grouper sandwiches are terrific!

If you want fewer people, tons of day trips, reasonably priced parks try the Verde Valley. Towns are Cottonwood and Camp Verde. We just got home from Krazy K RV park in Camp Verde where we paid $375 per month with electric and wifi included in the price. That price also included a $25 senior discount. There is a pool, hot tub, small library, small exercise room, pool table, common patio. Well cared for park with owners on site. There are several other nice parks in the Verde Valley but you get more bank for your buck at Krazy K.

Jerry and Deb,

Sounds like you have similiar criteria as we did. We choose Green Valley, AZ which is about 30 miles south of Tucson. Not heavily populated, 55+ over community, close enough to a major airport, far enough from the Mexican border. We purchased a winter home here in December and also have our RV here. Very affordable area with great recreational opportunities. Check it out and PM me if you need further information.

On the Colorado River. Not much for just desert living. No room most of the time right on the river and you have to have reservations. View is terrific and action on the river is lots of fun.

Parker, AZ on the Colorado River. Low traffic, quiet, lots of rv parks. This was our 3rd winter here and we will be back. The Parker strip between Parker and the Parker dam is just south of Havasu and its a 12mile long stretch with probably 20 or more rv parks, all on the river. We think its easily the most scenic area in AZ. Lots of hiking, biking, blm land and areas to boondock as well.

If you are going to Arizona to stay warm for the winter, come to Yuma. It is the warmest place in Arizona because Yuma is only 100 feet above sea level. The rest of the state is higher, therefor cooler. This is our seventh year in Yuma. Compared to Phoenix and Tucson it IS NOT CROUDED.

But windy!

There are nice Parks in the East valley of Phoenix that vary greatly. You might check on the Arizonian East of Gold Canyon. We have been in Canyon Vistas RV Resort in Gold Canyon for four winters. Park has desert on two sides. Great location. Chris

We've been at North Ranch (Escapee park) north of Wickenburg. Lots of activities people here DO things. You can ride out the back gate on hundreds of thousands of acres of desert on your four wheeler or side by side. Lots of gold prospecting, ghost towns to explore, etc.

Or just stay in the park and play pickleball, exercise, sewing, wood carving, and other activities.

But costs are out of site and the people are not as friendly. Also more for us to do in AZ. But, remember everyone is different
