New trucks are getting so tall, we wonder what issues you have had with bed clearance with your fifth wheel. How did you resolve the issue without having a high nose? Thanks.

I've got a 2011 2500hd with z71 and z81 suspension(heavy tow pkg). it still high, a good 3-4 inch higher than my father in law's 2005 2500.

My k-z fifth sits nose high enough, that we can't sleep in it while hooked up. The only thing we had to do was adjust the suspension. No extra tire wear so far.

Also, since the bed rails are so high we had to try out 3 different pin boxes. With the standard box turning past 45 degrees would cause the box to hit the bed.

I did an axle flip on the trailer to raise it a few inches - problem solved.

That's something I've been thinking about since I have a F350 4WD on order. I stopped by the Ford lot and measured the rail heights and they are 59 inches. I think someone said that the Dodge trucks are 61 inches. I talked to a local trailer shop and they'll flip the axles on a 5ver for less than $300 so we may end up doing that.

Same problem here. My 2011 Chevy 2500 HD is a good two inches higher than my 2009 Chevy 2500. I had to take my Access tonneau cover off as it has a rail system that is a little over an inch above the bed rail of the truck. I then lowered my hitch head about 1 1/2 inch. I have about 6 1/2" clearance from bed rails to bottom of front of 5er. My 5er., still runs about an inch or two nose high. Temperature of back tires while towing don't seem to be much different from front axle tires thus I don't "think" I have too much weight on the back tires. I will get it weighed as some point. Back of pin box still comes very close to the truck bed rails. I now have to carry a small aluminum ladder just to get up in the back of the truck bed. Just wish the new trucks were not so high in back.
The distance from ground to top of bed rail is about 57" on my Silverado 2500 HD 6.6 D/A 4x4.

Bought a new Dodge Ram 2500HD last fall and purchased a new Jayco Eagle SuperLite 26.5 RLS in January. Finally picked it up from the dealer last Monday and got a hitch put on it. I was afraid of the height of the truck, but when hooking the new FW up, it appears to only be about 1" or so high in the front. The guy helping me hook up said they usually like to see a vertical fist between the bed the the bottom of the FW overhang and we were only short a bit. He said it should be ok. Hopefully it stays this way. FW pulled great on its maiden voyage, just short of 500 miles, we'll see what happens when we get it fully loaded, DW if working on it every day to make sure we leave nothing out when we leave after April 15.

Before flipping the axels I would check with the manufacturer of the RV. There was another thread about frame cracks and some of the cracked frames were blamed on flipping the axels.
Just my $0.02 worth YMMV

Guess I'm lucky with my combo. No mods or adjustments necessary on either, when I switched from my 07 Ram to my 2011 Chevy 4X4.

My KZ axles are already under the spring pack. I had a leveling kit installed on my truck which should help at the tailgate.

I had to have a 4" lift installed on my FW. Now we are towing level and have 9 inches of clearance.
