We are looking for new and unusual Spring and Summer rv'ing ideas on the East Coast. We are traveling with a 10 year old who loves to visit new places! While we do enjoy an amusement park here and there, that would not be our first choice. We enjoy historical locations, concerts, stage shows, museums, beaches, mountains, scenic drives, and experiencing local foods. Would welcome new ideas! The length of our trips vary from weekends to two-week trips. Thanks!

Bar Harbor, Maine and Acadia National Park

It has everything you mentioned except the amusement park. Bar Harbor Campground would be my choice.

IMHO, I would stay away from Mt Desert Narrows Campground. By the figment of someones imagination, they think they are a resort and charge as if they were.

Mystic Seaport and Aquarium at Mystic Conn. would be a great trip for about 4 or 5 days. It would take a good couple of days to see everything at the museum, a full day at the Aquarium and stores nearby. Than you can also stop at Roger Williams Park and Zoo in Rhode Island. Alot of fun for all ages.

Full timing it since July 2012 My pics

The Harrisburg PA area. You will be near Gettysburg, Lancaster County & Amish areas, Three Mile Island, Hershey Park and Chocolate Factory.
About 3 hours west of Harrisburg you can visit the Flight 93 Memorial.

Although I prefer it in the Fall, a hike along the waterfall trail at Ricketts Glen in PA might be fun. I also have enjoyed a stay at Babcock State Park & the Glade Creek Grist Mill in WV.

Some photos of my last trip at Fall 2011 East Coast Trip.
