I've got a spendide washer/dryer combo....brand new in my coach. Used it for the first time on this trip and I can't wait to take it out! I would much rather have the cabinet as storage. 90 minute wash cycle and even longer to dry 2 pairs of jeans and two bath towels. As soon as I take the coach back to the dealer to get a few items taken care of I'm asking them to take it out. I'm sure a lot of folks like having them but for the DW and I we would much rather use the campground facilities and be done with a whole weeks laundry in less than 2 hours. Anybody looking for a new (used twice) WD combo let me know, I'll give it to you for a steal!!

We are not full-timers now, but were in the past.
We had the Splendide vented W/D in the fifth wheel we were using.
It was, quite literally in our opinion, the greatest thing since pockets were invented!
Load it up, turn it on, and go do what we wanted, as long as we wanted!
Not ONCE did we return and find our wet (or half dry) clothes piled on a table as a "penalty" for not being there when somebody thought we should be.
We used the laundro-mat for large items that wouldn't fit well in the little machine, but the little machine was used daily.
If we ever go full-timing again, we just might have another one. No, it isn't a necessity, but it is definitely something I would like to have!

Boy, what a way to get comments that support you - ask only those who made the same decision you want what they think.......I just have one question....Where do you get the space to store all that smelly damp clothing? If we didn't wash every day of two, we would be swamped.

Going on our 5th year full timing. Bought new Phaeton in 2007 that had the w/d combo in it. Removed and sold the unit without even using it. Got rid of alot of weight and gained alot of storage. Prefer to do laundry all at one time. Works for us.

I hate laundromats and the time wasted guarding my stuff, not to mention the cost. While my laundry is doing it's thing, I'm doing my thing.....

Ditto. When our fellow campers are wasting a day sitting waiting for laundry or trudging off to the laundry in the rain, we head out and about and do our thing. D/W does a small bit of laundry every day. Puts it in the W/D and turns the coffee on...the laundry is done by the time we are ready to go.

To each his own, but I have to say that it is rare that we stay where there are not laundry facilities, that we can't pick the day we do laundry and that it ever takes more than 2 hours start to finish.

We are not full timers but would not be without our Splendid. I would say that we would get separate units in any new coach. That would eliminate the questionable aspects in my opinion. In a stick and bricks no one goes without a washer and dryer in this day in age.
