Yup, but there is only one word to describe people who camp in parking lots.

I do support my enroute OVERNITEING spot. I buy at wal-Mart, Lowes, Bass Pro, and I eat at the occasional country diner that lets me overnite in their parking lot.

Other than the meals do you buy anything you would not have bought anyway? Sounds like what psychologists call compensation. Wouldn't it be fun if all Walmart shoppers camped in the parking lot?

Hi Gunpilot77,

I've got a KOA for you at only $42.00 per night with wifi which doesn't work. You may arrive at 7 pm and be on your way at 7 am. That's $3.50 per hour.

If I stay at a merchant's location I do shop in their store. It costs them nothing for me to stay. The store provides local employment for hundreds of folks--the campground, not so much.

Is it a "destination"? Nope. But then I mostly boondock anyway, and my RV is well equipped to do so.

Next thing on the "I need list" is a generator. Now even more decisions await you. Which one, what size and most important, which color!

Yellow. Mobeewan commands you to feel the power of the dark side of the force. Then you can use the money you saved to do other mods.

If you have the money, a 4000-6000 watt inverter generator with remote start is the best for pure couch potato convenience, assuming you have room in the pickup bed. that way, flipping on the A/C consists of hitting the gen remote, waiting a few seconds, then flipping the A/C on.

Isn't that "stealing" electricity, unless you have permission from WalMart management??? Also, unless there is an electrical outlet on the light pole, (which there usually isn't) how does one "tie in" to the light pole??

Hi,

For fun I did a peukert calculation on 97 amps with a 2000 amp-hour battery bank. 50% discharge comes at 10.4 hours. But...then you have to recharge..... it is a problem.
You just recharge while you drive the next day, then plug in at the destination.
This is enroute boondocking not the destination.
My 1800w inverter will run the air just fine although I don't have the 2000 amp-hour battery to keep it going long.
