Has anyone looked at the new Palomino max series 2902. I went to the factory yesterday and looked it over. Nice with the slide. Lots of no charge options added also. I have a 2012 Palomino 8801 that I bought last March and am very disappointed with the unit. Too many problems so I ordered the new 2902. The dealer gave me what I paid for the 8801 so it was a no brainer.

I have looked at it several times and it looks great..I was at my dealer yesterday looking at it.. I like the room that the slide gives and more space in the cabover would be welcome. What happen with your 8801?

Problems in the last 10 months. When I 1st got it home and ready for a shakedown run, I couldn't fill the fresh water tank. The fill tube ran up hill. I fixed that problem with a different ell at the tank and shortened the fill hose. I couldn't get any TV stations. I took it to the factory and they found all the cables hooked up wrong. One morning about 3 am the co detector went off. I pulled the fuse marked co detector, wasn't it. I cut the wire and went back to bed. Factory replaced the detector after another trip to the factory. There is a panel beside the refrigerator at the end of the dinette that was bulged out 1 1/2" at the top. Back to the factory, they cut the panel down and all was ok. That was when they replaced the detector also along with refitting the bathroom door because it was warped bad at the top. My refridgerator quit cooling on gas on the way to Texas last Oct. I took it to Camping World in Mission, Tx and they replaced the burner assy and said it was good. On the way home it quit again. I took it to the factory again and had them check it and they said go to a Dometic dealer for repairs. It sat in the dealers lot for 2 weeks and he said nothing was wrong. Now that the weather is warmer, I turned the refridgerator on and waited. 3 days to get any frost in the freezer. It's now at another dealer and he said he's fixing it.
Electric workes great. All the monitor wires were wrong. Full was empty, empty was full.
I am headed for Texas in 2 weeks and the new unit will be in and ready. They know what I expect so I am sure it will be ready.

If you hated last years model why in the world would you go back to the same trough.

I can see why you would make the deal and take your chances since the dealer offered you back what you paid for the first one.
The sad part is that alot of your issues with the first one were done at the factory from just sheer slip shod work. Hopefully you got the exception to the rule. I think its worth taking the chance and hopefully you will get a much better unit this time around. If you dont, shame on you if you go back for thirds.

I looked at the new 2902 and it appears to be identical to my 1000SLLB except that MAYBE the overhead in the cabover sleeping area is higher. Is it?
