I just checked mine and the numbers fall into the category even with the new cooling unit that was installed last time. Guess I will need to call the rv shop that did the last 2 times and let them tell me. They are real good for this type of thing. Thanks for the updates.

I have a new cooling unit too, .. installed about 11-12 months ago.
The SN falls into the recall, BUT I have the blue sticker which they say is exempt from the recall. If it the SN is recalled then why is there a blue sticker exemption?
Talk about confusing!

I surely sympathize with you folks who have these Norcold problems. I.don't think that I could sleep in any coach with ANY Norcold fridge in it, whether it has had the "fix" applied or not. I am very thankful that my coach has a Dometic fridge.

This is NOT a NEW Recall but an update to find 1200 series that have NOT had the current recall done. If you have had the current recall done in the past 18 months, you have the current recall kit.
That notice is for the units that had the original single hi temp snap disc installed as part of an earlier recall and what Norcold is doing is getting the word out to owners that believe THAT recall is the same as the Current recall. IF you have the Black recall box on the lower coil, you have the current recall. Doug

You might want to do a search, ... Dometic is going through the same thing on many of it's models.

I'm having my Norcold cooling unit replaced with the Amish built cooling unit fron RVcoolingunit.com out of Memphis.
I am attending the Fleetwood National Rally in Elkhart, IN in June and having the unit installed at the Amish Refrigeration Factory that builds the cooling unit. They are located 15 miles from the Rally.
These cooling units get rave reviews and I will sleep better at night.
My current recall "Black Box" has malfunctioned. The Frig still works perfectly.
I will never own another Norcold.

Ya buddy!! Tossed my Norcold in September after a very challenging summer trip through Arizona, New Mexico and Texas where everyday was 100+.

I guess I should apologize to some who seem confused by my rant. Being a retired pharmacist I understand than mistakes can be made, even by manufacturers, and when a mistake happens the results can be and sometimes are life threatening. But I am also used to an industry that does everything within its power to rectify error. Recalls are sometimes taken down to the consumer level, and individual services are offered to prevent or try to correct damage. Pharmacist are expected, if a mistake is made, to extend every effort to prevent harm, including if necessary closing the shop and personally driving to the patients location to verify, exchange, and correct an error.
Norcold, citing the risk of devastating fire, has chosen to recall the 2100 several times, making the consumer responsible for transportation to an authorized dealer. The consumer is responsible for lose of use and any lose of food during recall failure. When the Pinto was recalled, when Toyota had its recall, with the Volt recall, owners were not asked to park their calls immediately and walk to the nearest dealer.
To those who said that the Norcold parts were available for immediate replacement, congratulations, you live in an RV friendly community.
Again, just ranting, as it keeps my blood pressure down.
Happy Trails to all and enjoy RVing.
