6.5 with no toad.
7.5 with the toad. See my sig.
I know this sounds backwards. I was surprised when I started pulling my toad but I run 73 with no toad and 65 max with the toad because it is heavy. Just proves to me that speed is a huge factor.

MBE 4000
45 foot Dynamax on columbia chassis
Jeep Wrangler Sahara (4 door) tow vehicle

On our 4,500 mile trip this winter we averaged 9.7 mpg

This is a new coach and only has 8,700 miles on it. Once broken in around 30K miles I expect to get over 10 mpg as others do who have a similar coach and chassis.

Just returned from a 4,000 mile trip with our 1994 34' w/454 TBI pulling 3,000 lb toad 62-65 mph. Averaged all the way from 6.7 to 9.9 with overall 8.2. 6.7 was with headwind. Previos best mpg was 8.8 and I had several tanks ave over 9 this trip.

We had a gas 36' Bounder in 2010 and averaged about 7.5 MPG while towing CR-V. Bought a 2010 Forest River Berkshire DP 40' in 2011, and now average 9 MPG while towing same vehicle. Good luck!

We average 8.2 NEVER drive over 55mph - retired for 11 yrs and so have all the time to take it slow. sig shows what we have. We track milage at every fill up as we too think it tells us if something is not up to par on the unit.Ordered unit from factory in '96 and still are in love with it. Once hubby took it to factory early in season - unloaded, not towing going 55 and got 10mpg- never happened again and not likely too!!! At our ages we are down to Ind MI and local trips to state parks so not too concerened about gas cost. Do not like how high it is but it will not stop us at this point in life.

As you can guess each coach with all the chassis available, of all age ranges, the averages differ greatly. In our 2002 330 CAT 38' lightly loaded coach with 68,000 miles towing a 2005 Malibu we average about 8.5--9 if we have great travel conditions and don't cross any mountains. If conditions are worse...all bets are off!

Besides the age and type of engine, it depends on the terrain, wind, weight, tires, road conditions, stop and go traffic, etc. All of these conditions will drop mpg a lot. Towing makes a slight difference but not enough to be a deal breaker. Without a toad we may get 1 mpg better efficiency.

I guess if we were buying another coach we'd choose one that is broken in already with an efficient chassis/engine under it. Other than that...we don't worry about it. If the cost of fuel in a 5-6 mpg coach is a deal breaker...keep looking.
