I too have taken to writing things down or I'll forget. I have lists to remind me of my lists.
Another thing I do, that everyone gets a kick out of. I'll use my cell phone to call my own home answering machine and leave myself a message. That way when I get home the machine is beeping at me. When I push the button on it there is a message from myself telling me to remember to do something. Works good give it a try, if you remember.

Well there are two things that have some symptoms in common, and the common symptom is CRS.
Alzheimer and Absent Minded Professor.
I recall having this problem back in my Teens.. The good news is that it is no worse now than it was then. (That was a LONG time ago).
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

But, it has it's advantages, too. I'm the only man I know that can hide his own Easter Eggs.

Placed an order at Old Guys Rule on line store and didn't put down the size and something else that I can't remember right now. Between CRS, Old Timers Deasease and Senior Moments... Where was I going with this, oh yeah the new set of maps are in the glovebox of the rig in storage about 45 miles away. Forgot to bring them home with me.

If you remember where you put every thing, it takes all the joy out of finding it again. I have color coded post-its, one color for each person I am supposed to do things for, one for the house and one for me.
We don't have to memorize books, we can always refer back to them or re-read them. Same with daily life. I just think at a certain age, your brain is full of useless information which needs to be forgotten anyway so you have to write down the important stuff, just like taking notes in class. Lots of blather, bits of important stuff. Nothing wrong with writing it down.
What bugs me is when I hide my eyeglasses and today, - shoes.
