Yesterday we had a record high temperature of 75°F with mostly sunny skies. A lot of the snow has now melted with just the piles left from plowing. This past week has been one with record high temperatures for March. This morning the temp was 50°F which is 5°F higher than the normal high. But like all good things, this will change by the end of the week. Two days of rain then declining temperatures to the normals.

Hopefully we won't get any hard freezes as some of the trees have started to bud. But the snowblower and chains will remain on the tractor as we know we can still get a snow dump or two......

Brother-in-law emailed me yesterday to say it was 73 at his place ( Windsor across from Detroit ). He was sitting on his deck with a cold one enjoying it and cursing at the idea of getting the lawnmower out.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

Here in So. Oregon yesterday it was mid 50s and mostly sunny and today it's cold and it' trying to snow . The snow pack in the mountains were late this year but we are catching up to normal now.
It's been this way all winter, last year we had 125% snow pack at this time.

Steve, if I didn't know better I'd think you are hard to please. Awhile back you wanted snow, then complained about too much snow, now too warm, hummm hard to please? lol!! Seriously, I KNOW we will pay a price for this beautiful March weather, just hope we get enough rain to keep the fire danger down. If we don't it will be a hot spring/summer literally. Also, many of the lakes up here will "grow" new rocks and I am sure my boat motor will find them!

The kids are outside playing in the sprinkler. In mid-March. Makes me worry a little about what the summer is going to be like, but it sure has been a nice weekend!

has been in the mid to high 70 all last week hit the 80's a couple days, my apple tree here now has leaves on it, went past the bud stage last week and I will be mowing grass this week what a weird spring, shouldn't be doing this till about mid next month

If at first you don't succeed--don't try sky diving!!
I'd rather be camping

Hi George, I'm only thinking about the fire danger with all that dry grass and low lake levels. Last summer my lower unit found several sand mounds just below the surface when running at 20mph. Oh, what fun. These darn things are just like under water mountains. One second the depth finder shows 15' of water and the next second the bottom alarm buzzes and wham, the motor slams up. Luckily just some paint scratches so far - knock on wood.

I drove through some snow here in the lower elevations west of Portland, Ore. which is very unusual for this time of year. They had several inches of snow on the ocean beaches a week or two ago which was the most they've had on any date in several decades.

Back home in Fargo, N.D., they had 4 straight record highs with temps in the upper 70s and Sunday’s low of 60 degrees at broke the record for the highest minimum temperature in the month of March by a whopping 12 degrees.

Steve, up here we don't worry about sand piles, but as the water levels change our lakes "grow" new boulders and reefs. Last year I got to use a new shear pin when I got the slightest bit off course and found a "new" rock. A few years ago I read 10+ feet for some distance, felt confident enough to fire up the big motor, went a few feet and wham. Another shear pin gone. Thank goodness for electric trolling motors.

Me too! I am thinking this summer may be a scorcher. We are supposed to be in the upper 80's today, breaking a record set back in 1906. We haven't had the a/c on yet, but it won't be long for sure.
