Congratulations! I test drove a 2011 Lariat Supercrew Max Tow. Loved that EB! One requirement of mine when I upgraded was rear camera too. I have only hooked up my TT twice, but my little landscape trailer a few times. One try every time, ball under the tongue.

Friday night at 5:30 (as all the dealerships service departments are closing for the weekend) my current TV broke a strap that holds the gas tank up (1 of 2). It is currently under recall however the dealer inspected it just 2 months ago and said it was fine at the time. This truck has never failed me in the 8 years I've had it (minus 3 flat tires). Honestly, I wouldn't be buying a new truck if it could pull the new camper. The dealer said it was their problem and they would fix it for me. No biggie there. What I'm wondering is if my current TV knows it got traded. Anyway, I get the new one tonight.

The saga continues...

Yep she probably is sad and upset that you are dumping her a newer, shiny model. Maybe she was hopping that the tank would fall and rupture taking you both out so you could be together for and ever.

I just wonder if your wife might be thinking the same thing ? Might want to pick up a dozen roses and take her out to a nice dinner and show!

Well...I would butI traded her in for a new goldwing last year. Now I have someone else who loves to ride instead. In fact she begs me to ride. Anyway I think your right.l about the truck. I still love it. It's like making that decision when sparky, the family dog gets to that point.

OK I have...now in my posession...my F150 EB. It's in the garage. Somehow I gotta get 1000 miles on it so I can go camping again. So far I really like it a lot but I don't even have 100 miles on it just yet. I live real close to where I work and the weather has been so nice that I've been riding the bike anyway. Maybe this weekend I can plan a 500 mile trip somewhere...and then come back.

Why 1000 miles? Ram and GM only require 500 miles and I think that's BS! Go buy a big truck and they don't put empty miles on them. They may see 50 miles if they are lucky before hauling 60K pounds of cargo.

The 500 unloaded miles, driving at various speeds, is for breaking in the axle gears, and the engine/trans. Mostly for the axle gears though. If you put new gears in an old truck, you have to go through the 500 mile break in for the new gears. I had to on my re-gear job on my F350. No biggie, just follow directions and all will be well.

But why? they don't do this on commercial trucks. Not even 3,4 or series tow trucks! D you think a tow company is going to drive around for 500/1000 miles before the hook a car? Nope they are going out and making money with it day one! BTW the last time I worked for a buddy that has a tow company he got a new F-450 and it had 47 miles on it when he hooked his first tow.
