Well, you all carry some nice ones. But, for me I couldn't live without my Swiss Army Knife. It's not there big one ,that one is to heavy. But, it has 2 sharpened blades, a flat blade screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, A blade that is suppose to be a can opener. I've never opened a can with it but, have pried open a lot of other things with it, a little poke-ie blade I use to open holes and plugged offices and such, a plastic tooth pick that is way to dirty to pick my teeth with, and a little tweezers that comes in very handy on slivers. I carry it everywhere on the farm and while I'm camping. It is my most used tool.

A lot of the stuff is made in China now. I carry a small Chinese Gerber at work and a larger Chinese Gerber at home. But in the woods when I'm hunting, I carry an American made Gerber LST. My wife and daughter also each have an LST. The LST and LST junior are still made in Oregon.
I am also known to carry a Gerber LMF II or a Glock 81 while hunting, maybe even a fixed blade Gerber Gator with the gut hook.
My uncle gave me a Boker Tree Brand 6006 years ago. It is still a good knife (and sharp) but I don't carry it because of the corrosion issue. I stopped carrying it when I got a Case XX M1051LSSP. Carried that knife until the spring broke in it.
You know you're a knife nut when you know the model numbers of all of your knives off of the top of your head.

All this talk of pocket knives reminds me of an incident that happened a few years ago. A British friend was visiting and we went to a local hardware store to pick up a few small things. My British friend was dumbstruck by the size and variety of "pocket knives" that were for sale at the hardware store. He told us MOST of those would be ILLEGAL in his country.

Victorinox Swiss Army Knives are great.
I carry one in the glove compartment of every vehicle and a baby one in my purse.
Have you see the Victorinox multi-tool?
To die for. Better than a Balmain handbag

I have a hen and Rooster Knife I have carried for over 35 years. I guess I should have bought a less expensive one to carry but I like knowing I have a quality knife in my pocket.

Okay, just ignore the black object... look at the knife in the upper right!
This Kukri has traveled around the world and half of the trip with myself. It is handmade in Nepal as any proper Kukri should be; I acquired it in Iraq. The pic was when it was shiny and new, it is a little rougher for wear these days and has moved from duty to gardening implement!

Ol' Crocodile Dundee said it best: "You call that a knife? This is a knife!"
But if you want to be impressed, watch a squad of Ghurkas dismount and charge an ambush with their Kukris drawn. Enemy morale withers, with good reason!

Weeeel. I finally decided to make the German knife my carry pocket knife.
I have forgotten or never knew that Solegen Steel is stainless.
Took it to a knife shop to have correct bevels on both sides and sharpened.
The blade is like a razor. It is flexible but is now sharp as broken glass. He sharpened it on a wheel and buffer wheel. 20% angles. Perfect profile on both sides.
Not sure I'm going to use it to whittle or carve though. Too dang sharp and blades a little long for so sharp. After my thub grows back together I may try it again.
I'm looking for a Whittling Jack with both right and left blades that lock though. I ran across one, in a wood working magazine a few months back but can't find it. I don't think the blades locked though.
For now I got a pocket knife guaranteed to slice paper and thumbs real easy, in my pocket.

I have a very small Swiss Army knife on my keychain, and a larger one that I carry when we go on a trip. For home defence(!) I also have a 'Kukri'. I'm not sure where this was made, but it does have the two small knives, 'Karda' and 'Chakmak' on the scabbard. My Dad served with the Gurkhas in India and had some GREAT stories about them. They were also sent to the Falklands in 1992, probably just for the fear factor! but I'm not sure if they saw action.
I don't believe in astrology. I am a Gemini and
we're very skeptical.
