I am still having issues with my coach batterys which I think I have figured out, BUT, my LP Gas Leak Detector (manufactorer CCI Controls)was set off at the same time my batterys started bubbling over and giving off lots of fumes. This is while stored in my barn.
I don't have a seperate owners manual for this dector.
Does anybody know if battery fumes can cause one of these detectors to alarm?

LP detectors sense hydro carbons of ANY sort. Yes the battery is off-gassing Hydrogen gas and sulfuric acid fumes which I believe qualifies.

Yes they will.

Is it the original detector.......I see your rig is an '03? Might want to check for expiration date on detector......they are usually only good for 5 yrs. or so. The 'material' for sensor has a shelf life.
Once you get that converter/charger fixed and not over charging the battery might want to replace LP Detector

It looks original, good suggestion. It is hard wired which I assume most of these are.

Its obviously working, since its sensing the hydrocarbons. I'd check it periodically, otherwise dont replace it just because its older than 5 years.

I set mine off one time by getting some 409 cleanser too close to it!

Ours also went off once and would not reset. I read in the manual that you have to vacuum the sensor. Once I did that, it has worked fine.

Tom, there very sensitive to gases! I replaced mine in my Winnebago (2010) 2 years ago it was installed when new (2004) and my coach was 8 years old when I replaced it (it was acting up). Your suppose to replace them every 7 years. I bought mine at Cowboys in Quartszite, AZ. when we were dry camping there 2 years ago. They cost around $75.00 to replace them and, I made the repair myself (minor wiring involved) in about 10 minutes.
