Henderson and Lake Charles for sure... pm me with contact info please
we will be here for a few more days for sure... then Pensecola for a few more days... so not sooner than a week or so
Part of our trip this year will be to the Gulf Islands National Seashore and Ft. Pickens. My little sister lived in Gulf Breeze for a few years until the hurricanes hit them hard twice.
Dear Janet and Chet,
It's great to see and hear that you are back on the ruads to adventure. Linda and I have also been through a period of full body maintainence and upkeep. As of now we're bright eyed and bushy tailed and getting ready roll.
We'll prolly kick off the 2012 season at Tall Pines Harbor for the Hid-Atlantic Truck Camper Rally on the 19th thru the 22th of April, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. There are several remote camping spots well away from the madding crowds campfires. There will be a passel of kindred spirits, who I;m sure, would be in high spirits if you two were to appear. It has been an event full of knowledge and fun.
Whether or not you can fit us into your spring fling, we are still very happy that your out and about, still spreading sunshine and your soaring wings. Camp fires are generally at a bare minimum, really!

Sorry, we haven't beem able to shake free of the Gulf Coast magic... and we want to head west.
We have met several interesting people with truck campers. One is full timing for a while. Another is from the Durango, Colorado area... he and his wife are into airplanes and truck campers. Some wave.
None of them are on the forum or even knew about it. The two qwners that I mentioned above had questions that are in the TC University... about roof materials (his is rubber) and where to mount a TV,

I don't know... is that those things that look like bananas?
All kidding aside... the only plantations that I can ever remember being on were in Hawaii...
Weat Tennesse probably had some plantations... it is deep south... it still has debutante balls, cotillians, etc. Some of that stuff seems to be showing up in east TN... we don't have the southern gentry or plantations though... just a way to be exclusive (like "resort" campgrounds).
Thanks for the suggestions... I found Convent... but not Vacherie... at least in my WM Rand McNally Atlas.

Vacherie is across the river and due east of Convent. I know you don't stay in RV parks, but Poche' Plantation RV park is in Convent. Drive through it, or dump there, just to look at the carvings. The plantation house and the old cemetery there are quite neat too.

We found a new beach among the others that we've been hanging out at... It was 86 degrees at noon... now it's 80.4 in the shade.
We allowed our solar to work its way down over the last 2 days... the batteries are back up to 90%... one battery is 77 degrees, the other 79... with no help from me.
We had very hard rains for about 36 hours... the skies are clear... but the red flags are still flying.
We wish you could be here with us... you missed a fantastic meal at the Magnolia Grill... they did a special evening for our 49th Wedding Aniversary thursday night.
You'll want to go with us next March for our 50th... Hawaii! and we plan to stay a while.
Thanks for the emails, pms, phone calls, and invites...
