I was watching Extreme RV's last evening and saw a segment about "tiny houses on wheels." The maker of small houses has taken his idea and is making rv-like houses which can travel. Anyone ever see one of these?

With a few well-placed shrubs, you would never know the building could hit the highways.

The reason they have wheels has nothing to do with towing. Because the owner can claim it's a trailer, it is not taxed as a permanent structure. Saves lots of money in places like California.

I think this is an interesting alternative to the regular rv, which goes down in value as soon as you drive it off the lot, and which tends to have maintenance/repair/shoddy building issues.

Color me confused too. The units are stick and nail homes mounted on a utility trailer. The designs are cute but crazy small. Heck if you are building your own, for the price you are better off restoring an old airstream.

I have been a huge fan of Jay Shaffers for years now and love his tiny homes, I also follow the TinyHouseBlog, lots of examples of unique tiny homes on there...
