Hi,

If there is a disconnect switch, then the converter can't recharge the battery.

Hi,

It takes a long time to charge even a single battery.

"The chart above shows the amount of time it took a PD9155 (55-amp) converter set to three different output voltages to recharge a 125 AH (Amp Hour) battery after it was fully discharged to 10.5-volts.

14.4-VOLTS (Boost Mode) – Returned the battery to 90% of full charge in approximately 3-hours. The battery reached full charge in approximately 11 hours.

13.6-VOLTS (Normal Mode) – Required 40-hours to return the battery to 90% of full charge and 78-hours to reach full charge.

13.2-VOLTS (Storage Mode) – Required 60-hours to return the battery to 90% of full charge and 100-hours to reach full charge."

this used to happen to a unit I had with a front window, I could leave the window open and fold down the stone protector and get down the road, the exhaust from my truck would get in around the deflector and the oxygen sensor in the trailer would sound off...

as mentioned, very likley a dead battery

Unless the battery is disconnected after charging the parasitic draws in the trailer, including the LP detector, will kill a Group 24 battery in two weeks. The LP detector will start beeping if the voltage gets too low.

I've not seen a battery disconnect switch as stock on a hybrid which means you must add one, or go to the hassle of disconnecting the ground wire every time you park without power. Boat supply stores have many weatherproof switches. Just need an On/Off version. Since you're not switching the ignition on a boat use the Negative wire to completely isolate the battery from the camper.

shadet, it might help if you told us what year, make and model trailer you have? The newer Roo/Shamrock built in late 2012 have manufacturer-installed battery disconnects.

Its a very useful mod. Costs about $30 or less to add one yourself.
