This has happened twice to us. Once on a remote road outside of Albequrque and once about 50 miles east of Pensacola...just the other day. All of sudden our Jacks decided to start lowering. I got a signal that they're going down and the red light comes on my dashboard. I pulled over, turned off the jacks, looked under the coach to make sure they were retracted and went on our way. I think this is being caused by some sort of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference). We talked to some folks in Albequerque about it.
They had it happen to their slides a couple of time. They ended up taking out the fuse and that solved the problem. They just put it back in when they stopped. Have you ever heard about this? How to prevent it from happening again? Needless to say, it's a bit nerve racking when it happens.

That's a new one to me. What system do you have? Does it have a separate on/off switch and raise/lower buttons? My jacks are supplied from "Equalizer Systems" and it take two actions (turn the system on and depress the auto level button) to lower them. Also, our slides are interlocked with the ignition such that there is no power to the slide motors when the ignition is on. Installing a similar interlock would be easier than pulling/reinstalling the jack fuse everytime and you can't forget. Good luck.

Did you visually verify the jacks were actually deploying?? Reason I ask is that the light also indicates that the hydraulic fluid level is a bit low.

My motorhome drop out of cruise control periodically and I found out it was caused by my wife's cell phone when it transfers from one tower to the next.
Turned off the cell phone and the cruise worked OK.

Ours did a trick similar to this once. After dirving in a heavy rainstorm for a few hours, when I shut the ingine off the main slide deployed!! it retracted when the switch was activated but went back out when released. We got parked and I put a portable space heater in the compartment with the genny and after it dried the problem went away. Apparently water got in one of the connectors causing the problem.

Are they electric or hydraulic. Either way they should be wired with a couple of safety switches. More likely a wire that is bare and touches. List the make and model.

LOL, that's weird with a cell phone and cruise control. So touchy some of these things are. Perhaps for the OP there is some kind of shield that you can install around the wiring.
One thing about too many gadets is there is more to fail.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

Personally, I would look for a chafed/rodent chewed wire bundle that has two wires that are making contact occasionally and causing the jacks to operate. To me this makes more sense than RFI interference.

I'll believe the cruise control and cellphone, but unless you are within near view of a radar (not microwave) site, or local ham tower, I'll go with chafing..
