I have a trailer with similar weights and use a Barker VIP 3500. Great Jack and certainly one of the best. I would go 3500. Someone mentioned the ground bolt had some rust and killed the power to their unit. To help prevent this you can apply a little isolator grease in the areas where it grounds to the trailer. This will help prevent a no power occurrence.

Where did you find it for around $280? The Barker website shows them for $346.25. Part #31558. The 3500 VIP with 18" stroke runs for $300.83. $280 is a deal!

Search ebay, Barker Electric Jack 24". There are a couple of sellers there selling them for $285 - 287 shipped.

Another choice instead of using blocks under your jack is theFastway Flip Jack. I've got it on my trailer and it works great.

The Barker 3000 has a 2" shaft and the 3500 has a 2 1/4" shaft. Have had the Ultra fab and would NOT recommend. It broke when a service man ran it up to high. Since they broke it they fixed it but we never trusted it again.
Love our Barker .

You're welcome! I'm going to buy a Barker myself soon on ebay. That's the cheapest place I have found on the web for those. I find Amazon is usually less than ebay, but not this time.

Wow I got mine installed yesterday, took about 30 minutes. I can't believe I waited so long to do this mod, I love it, it's so awesome! I think I'm going to put a battery disconnect inline between the battery and the jack because we live next to an open field and there are lots of kids that use the field for bike and just to play and I can see some curious hands playing with the switches. Maybe being paranoid but better to be precautious. I did cover the jack control head with a small white bucket it would just feel better with the battery disconnect.

I picked my Barker up from Mantelli Trailer out of NY. I think you will find them as cheap as any eBay deal. They also advertise on eBay but sell direct also.
