Just recently started getting into shooting for sport (more on my blog) and was wondering - for those with a similar interest - what gear do you take when you travel and if you have any favorite spots that you'd like to share.

I've posted mine on my blog and would like to keep expanding this to include more areas.

I took up trap (sporting clays) and high power a couple of years ago. Because I am a Canadian, I can't move my weapons with me so I have to store them in Arizona over the summer. I go to the Rio Salado Sportsman Club which has some pretty good facilities.

We fulltime and have all the equipment with us including a reloader. I shoot all the shotgun sports all over the country and really like FL in the winter. The Okeechobee area has lots of choices. Kansas has some great Sporting Clays ranges as does Missouri. I just won't shoot in the Commie states of Kalifornia and Illinois...I'll spend my money elsewhere!!

Here is a good source of shooting clubs...

On edit now that I looked at your blog, there are tons of places to handgun shoot everywhere. You'll just have to research each area where you get there. A lot of the ranges in the link above also have rifle/handgun shooting...

There is a pistol range right across the street from Happy Traveler RV Park on Fowler Ave. in Tampa.

Just returned form AZ. Put guns in a locked case and drove. Found an area near the campground were others have shot. I brought plastic bottles filled with water and pop cans and blew the hell out of them. But i never leave a place dirter than when I got there so I picked up all the bottles and cans and they went into the garbage. Saw many indoor ranges allong the way.

This is just over the hill from our rv park. As far as shooting sports go; you name it, they got it. Winter range was a great event again this year.

I shoot skeet at Mission Skeet&Trap in the RVG. They also have five stand and Sporting Clays. The pistol range is being redone and should be open soon.
The have a winter Texan membership for $40.00 per year. Nice club and folks.

A great shooting range is located west of Hurricane, Utah, off highway 9 near the Washington County Fairgrounds. The Southern Utah Shooting Sports Park has ranges for handguns and rifles, as well as trap and skeet. The park is open to the public Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Have you been to the Clark County Shooting Range right here in Las Vegas? Big meet (trap shooters) happening this week starting Wednesday.
The shooting range is on Decatur north of county road 215 in north Las Vegas. We are doing our third visit as hosts here, we leave in April.
