We have just changed campgrounds and when setting up we can't get one of our slides to move out.

Is it electric operated?
Is it hydraulic operated?
Does it have it's own independent switch or gang switch?
Does it do anything?
Can you move it manually?

More info..symptoms. Please!

Wow! Did he also tell you that if you never put the slide out the motor will last even longer?

To bad he didn't have some helpful information on solving the real problem.

Thank you for your help. It is electric. The camp rv machanic stopped in and all he did was come inside the trailer and give the slide a good tug on the top and it then went out. He said you should always have someone outside to give it a start when you bring it in and it will help the motor last longer.

If it's electric...and you heard "click.click.click.click.click"...it's probably just in to tight. There's a clutch where the motor attaches to the screw drive. It will click if there is too much drag on it. The fix is to use a socket wrench to give the drive a couple of turns to free it up. I have to do this occaisionally on one of my slides. Different models have different access points to the electric drive motor and clutch. Mine has to be accessed thru little flaps on the underbelly of the rv.

If it's electric and makes no noise at all...you may have a blown FUSE/Current Limiter.

The electric 12v motors do require a charged battery --- and do best when the camper is plugged in.

I haven't owned the manual style or hydraulic style...maybe somebody that owns one of those...and has shared your experience can help with that.
