Thanks for the replies. My tire size is 225/75R15. An Avion is similar to an Airstream. It is very low and the tires are recessed into the trailer quite a bit. Going to a 16" rim is not an option or I would go that way. My empty weight is 6500 pounds, my current (scaled) winter weight is 8000 pounds, I assume we will put about 1000 pounds of food, water, clothing, and misc supplies when we go camping leaving me with a 500 pound cushion for the bathroom sink my wife likes to pack.
We do not use our trailer for local 20 mile local campgrounds much. A three day weekend trip is normally 120 miles each way for us. We also use our trailers as vacation homes and we have stayed in them throughout the nation taking 17 hour drives with them. Since I was planning on doing the same with this one, I was trying to get some Maxxis.
I will be trying to order some direct in a few minutes.

There are no Maxxis dealers in Maryland. So I called some in Virginia yesterday. All I got was the run around and excuses. Can't find the size and load range I need on any website, except the Maxxis website where the chart is of the tires they make. Not even the online store under the Maxxis website has it. On the page where they list them all, it says at the bottom:
"Models and sizes may be limited by market"
I guess there is no market for the size and load range I was looking for. Goodyear Marathon it is. Time to take a drive to Deleware . . . home of tax free shopping and discounts on Goodyear Marathons at Eastern Marine.

Well I gave in. Paying a premium price, but I got six Maxxis D load coming in today. I won't be able to get them installed until Monday or Tuesday, but the ITD thats getting them in said he wanted to wait till better weather so his guys didn't have to work out in the rain. Going to have my Excursion aligned at the same time. I will try to post a picture up when its all done. It will be the same as looking at a $1000.00 bill.

I second discounttiredirect.com. ordered tires on line on Monday or Tuesday, they were at my door on Friday. Cheaper than I could buy locally and no shipping...oh, and they were Maxxis. They were actually delivered several days early from their projected date. They were made in late 2011. While I have not yet mounted them they look like quality tires.

I'll second discounttiredirect.com. I ordered 4 Maxxis 225/75/15D radials on a Monday and received them by Thursday.

I would call them. When I ordered, they had the D and E load range 225/75/15 maxxis radials on the website. The D and C load range tires must be backordered.

When I was checking with Discounttiredirect.com, it was the same price to have them shipped to my address as it was to have my local dealer mount, balance, and dispose of the old ones. Guess what I did?

That makes sense if you have a local dealer who sells maxxis. Not an option for me.

Even if you have a local dealer, you may still be out of luck. Some bicycle shops are listed as Maxxis dealers -- but you won't get anything other than bicycle tires from them. Maxxis needs to be a little more specific with their dealer listings and find out from their dealers just what they are willing to sell.
