Has any one camped on Georgetown Lake in Montana. I have not been there yet but thinking about it this year. We always spend a week in the first part of Aug at Canyon Ferry Lake south of Helena but thinking of doing some thing differant this year. Is it a warm lake? Can the kids swim in it or is it to cold? Also what camp ground to use? I am not worried about hook ups because I have never used them camping but if there are some by the lake I would opt to use that campground.

It's a nice place to stay. The lake is cold, even in the summer -- or so it was last year when I was there last summer. You are in a nice area -- close to Phillipsburg, etc.

Lodgepole Campground is nice.

Phillipsburg Bay Campground is a little bigger and a little nicer IMHO.

Both have access to the lake. It's definitely a nice area -- I'm planning on going there this summer again with my family.

Thanks bozemantrail, I think I am going to run up there in May to take a look around. If this weather stays like this it maybe sooner because we might be camping in may this year.

Stuart Mill Bay Fishing Access is another good place to look at on Georgetown Lake.
