Purchased a used fiver which had not been waxed for several years. What is best way to remove oxidation from walls before applying wax. Started waxing without doing anything about oxidation, and get lots of streaks. :-(
Any advice?

One recommendation is to use Meguiars RV Wax Kit.

Go to Wally World in Boat/fishing section and get 3M fiberglass restore. Worked great for me. JMO

Any marine or RV store will have oxidation remover or color restorer. All should work, but start with the least aggressive first. Don't use rubbing compound.

I used a Star Bright product. www.starbright.com. It works great on heavily oxidized surfaces. Still, it takes a lot of elbow grease and plenty of rags. I used it on a 37 ft 5th I used to have and it took two days work to finish. I followed it up with a good wax and the trailer went from dull with streaks, to shiny and brand new.

Or, o a search here for "Red Max Pro" or "RMP" and you can read about all the prep work that has to be done, and how to do it, before putting on the RMP. It might make you a RMP applier, too.

x2 on using BKF and Red Max Pro.
Your rig will look like new, and the cost is very low.

We just cleaned our heavily oxidized Class C with Meguiar's One Step Compound and it did a fantastic job! After we did the cleaning, we put on a coat of Nu Finish paste polish. The camper looks almost like it did new.
