Just ordered a brand new 2013 Cyclone 3010 and the cheapest dealer was National RV in Detroit.
I expect this unit to weigh 12,000 lbs or so. It is now a high profile trailer with two awnings, rear patio ramp kit, rear electric awning, Gen, and various other little extras. 6 point hyd. Level up too.
Best part is that I have a 2006 Duramax crew cab and 4x4. Gonna be a load on this truck for sure!!!
Thank God for air bags to get me by for a while.

Hipro, just sent you a pm about your sales experience....
Everyone, We are looking at the 3500,0. There are only about 3 that's semi local. Nit too many out there! But chances are high we will get one of the three
Thanks again!

According to the Trailer Life 2012 Tow Ratings publication, the 2012 Sierra 2500 CC Std Bed Denali, 2WD with the 6.6L TD is rated at 16,500# with the 4.30 rear end. The 4WD Denali 6.6L TD with a 4.10 rearend has a limit of 13,000#. The Sierra with the 15,800# towing is not a Denali. Remember that is only what it will pull, not what can be put in the truck bed. That is an another number altogether.

If you're buying a new truck, why buy one that can just get by? Buy a 3500 (SRW if you must) and have a tow vehicle with margin to spare.

We are heading towards buying the GMC 3500 crew cab 4x4 diesel (non Denali) SRW. We can't order it because it will take too long to build and we sorta need the truck by early May. So we are limited as to what's out there semi locally to buy.
I do like to have that margin for just in case we ever decide to upgrade that's why I'm leaning heavily towards the 3500.
I guess the next question is what hitch to get... and where the best place to buy it is.
Thanks again!

I had a HiJacker on my last truck and it worked really well.
I have a Reese 20K now and I find it quite hard to unhitch without the jaw snapping closed. It creaks and groans a lot. I'm thinking of replacing it even though it's only 6 months old.

Thanks everyone! We just put a deposit on our gmc 3500 crew cab, swr.
Price was very similar to the 2500. There were any 3 in a 300 mile radius but my dealer found one, gave me a great price on it and a decent, no great price on the trade in. And best part is i like the color and options!
Now to buy my cyclone. I posted in the 5er forum about tips on how to buy the toy hauler.
Being a complete novice, I'm worried about what to expect...
If you could comment on my post there I'd be much appreciated.
Thanks for all the advice.

Well,
I put my money down only to be told that the truck they were getting from another dealer sold.
BUT when I called that dealer that has it, they didn't say it was sold.
There are only 3 GMC 3500 crew cab, SLE, SRW trucks in a 300 mile radius from where I live. I think one of them just got sold, so there are only 2 left....
This is extremely frustrating.

We just got the 3500 srw delivered to our house! We found a dealer that wasn't close but was really easy to deal with and was very competitive in pricing. It's the same truck that my local dealer was sold, but wasn't. Thanks all for the help! Now just waiting for the cyclone to be built.
Ps how easy or hard is it to install the hijacker? I won't be doing it, but I have friends who are very mechanically minded. They sve rebuilt motorcycles and cars....
