Actually there are bugs flying above your motorhome and flying towards the sun. They fly everywhere.

You just NOTICE them more while on the freeway. they're actually EVERYWHERE but you don't often drive through a corn field or forest. Some of them DO fly high but most of the ones you run into are sober.

Look at it from their perspective, in proportion to size when you are only a mm in size, four feet above the highway is HIGH.

X-2, I was in the passenger seat of my bosses small airplane we were flying over Puget Sound (going from Port Angeles to Seattle) Washington State, we were flying at 1,500 feet and bugs were hitting are windshield!
