How many of you have gone to an Aquarium, looking thru that glass and wondering about maybe having that tasty fish for dinner. Well, bugs are looking thru the glass AT US, wondering the same thing...

When you're a bug...you eat to live pretty much constantly to produce energy.

To conserve energy, the bug doesn't have the need to fly high..after all it would waste precious energy and make them more visible and thus more vunerable to being eaten by birds. Self preservation.

Evolution never aparently took into consideration the poor bug having his guts splattered on a car window! Like little Kamakazi Planes!

At night, the bugs, which navigate by either the sun or moon...get confused by artificial lights including auto headlamps and head right towards them. Splat!

That's my story and I'm "sticking" to it!

They like gasoline fumes. ask any Floridian in Love Bug season. They hang around roadways and gas stations.

Here's a better question, IMO:
Count the number of bugs on your windshield after a 50 mile trip in the summer.
Multiply that number by the number of vehicles on the road at any given time during that same day.
Why don't we run out of bugs?

Good point! If you are staying somewhere for 1-2 nights do you bother cleaning the windshield? I hate having my view obstructed by bug brains.

Because they think they are very high already due to their small size.

We hit less bugs when driving with the lights off but what one does hit can cause more damage.

Maybe if the headlights, were mounted on top of the RV instead of midway the front, so many bugs wouldnt hit the windsheild & just pass over.
