For those interested in this subject. I had my contacts check on this Chinese Rv company and it does not seem like we will see a Chinese RV anytime soon :=)
This is the only website we could find on them; Link
It is all in Chinese, but you can follow the pictures. It seems like they use a lot of USA or Europe RV pictures, they are trying to sell those in China, you will also notice the Class B (or C?) on the main page, that is their new proposed RV they want to make on a Ford chassis? Word has it that they are trying to hire people etc, so they aren't quite ready for it. The are also working with another company who has capabilities to build "special purpose vehices"; Link
Anyway, just an intresting subject to read about in between all the other daily discussions....
Gosh, we wouldn't want any other human beings to be successful now would we. 1.8 billion people have to have someone to trade with. Could we all be speaking Chinese in the future? Sure, isn't that what makes history?
What all this trade should do is make us better at what we do; more competitive, better prices, more efficient. This is why it is so important our young folks get a good education and find solutions to global issues. If we don't, everyone will beat the socks off of us.
I wouldn't want to stop the Chinese from making rvs. Based on what I have purchased over the last 15 years of rving, I would be happy to entertain purchasing something that is better quality. Americans better get on the ball and get some education and encourage our youth to be innovative.
At this point...I would rather have an RV built in China. The quality is terrible already...if I'm getting junk, I want it to at least be CHEAP.

I include a webpage with e some pictures of the first four units this company took to a recent show. If you click on each model you can see the inside trim etc of each model. models
The decor sure is different!

If you click on the travel trailer picture, you'll see their simple solution to our heavy, overpriced, noise box we call a roof air. They simply attached a mini-split or highwall air condition to the hitch. With that, their is no gaping hole cut into the roof allowing for sagging and leaks and I am sure it eliminates the droning and vibration not to mention the fact that it blows quiet, cold air.
We have these units in our house here in Mexico and I always wondered if they would work. A guy down the street builds office trailers and he does the same thing.

Key word: innovation. Trying something new.
The "new" technology that is on the back of the RV is a split AC unit that Mitsubishi has been producing for close to 15 years. The question is whether the Chinese are buying Mitsubishi units or if they have just copied their engineering and are producing their own, without investing anything in design/engineering.
I love new technology but most of what I have ever seen coming out of China is someone else's technology and ideas that the Chinese have stolen. It is a known fact that the Chinese hackers have continued to attack many major manufacturers and even our own government websites. I also still remember the Chinese fiasco with the contaminated dog food products that killed thousands of people's pets. The Chinese quality control is a joke, in my opinion.
Some of the comments here, resemble those with the advent of Japanese vehicles. I predicted then that some would eventually become unaffordable to most like a Mercedes was and is. So now some of those same critics are wishing they could afford to buy a new Lexus LS. Whoa now.....I didn't say all!...

the smartest angle of attack for the Chinese to use would seem to be >> Do what everyone else has done! <<
1) obtain boat loads of capital (got it and more)
2) obtain permission to buy private, non-threatening North America-located manufacturing (I believe they have that)
3) Buy-up existing Made In America type RV manufacturors, some profitable, some promising (they may be working on that now)
4) pay Americans to design, build and market the "Chinese" product (just like the Japanese and Korean car / truck guys do now. And the British, German, Mexican, Italian....)
